The Central Florida Economy is adding jobs. The numbers are indisputable. In the past year jobs in the region are up 23,200 or 2.3 %.
Much of the improvement of the jobless rate is due to people leaving the workforce by retiring. (Baby Boomers). But it still can be difficult finding work especially if you are new to the job market. There are several local non-profit organizations out there willing to help with your job search.
This is where you contact them:
Workforce Central Florida This is the biggest and best-funded agency in the region. It serves a five county area which are Osceola, Orange, Seminole, Lake and Sumter Counties. Workforce offers a wide range of job training and job-placement services. Clients will learn how to write a resume, use agency computers to look for work, apply for a variety of training scholarships and assess what sort of jobs that are suited to you.

Central Florida Employment Council – This council is similar to workforce and has 800 members who are employers, recruiters or career service managers.

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida – Similar to the others but also runs classes on basic job skills, math, grammar, data entry and phone etiquette.
